down the wormhole: one day on earth

technically, i’m on vacation.

i sip the end of really good coffee, explained to me with vim and vigor by a kind, stache-sporter who just might be a millenial.

it’s snowing.  i sit in the corner of a coffee shop with lunchpails reminding me of my rainbow bright box from first grade, a delorean is in the window and a guy behind me is playing old school nintendo, like the one my sister would sometimes let me play when her friends weren’t around.

it looks like project1979 exploded in the wormhole, a real nifty place on milwakee in lovely chicago-town.  am i cool enough to be in this place that i have a crush on like a lil school girl?  perhaps not,  yet i stand my ground(s), get over-caffeinated on said “fruit-toned” espresso and write.

in this hub of coolness i work feverishly to put together a preview to my “one day on earth” video.  it’s funny, a lot of people have been really shy to be taped.  my favorite interview was with my cab driver, none other than the famed author jack clark.  we’ve got many written responses, my favorite being:

while the pictures and videos roll in, i get really excited knowing that we’ll be a small part of a really, really cool project!  thanks to all of you participating.  get your cameras ready for tomorrow.  we have one full day to shoot on the topic of:

when you were a kid, what did you think you’d be doing at age 30?  or, if you are a kid, you can answer, what do you think you’ll be doing at age 30?  i thought i’d be married with twelve children, living in connecticut.  or old (which seems to be a pretty common theme).

i feel honored!

so, i’ll make this short and just mention the cool things that have happened this week:

1.  i’ve done some “real life” interviews.  check them out on youtube (i still have a short show promo to add so stay tuned for that as well).

2.  andre’ obin, a super talented musician and 79er, has joined the vanya records family!  yes!  well-deserved, friend.

3.  the first project1979 baby was born!  congrats to meghan and john.

please watch for the pre 11.11.11 video tomorrow. respond to this question:

when you were little, what did you think you would be like at age 30?  (thanks, antonella!)  write down your response and take a picture.  email us at making1979@gmail.com.

until then-hugs!  embrace this day with love and coffee.
