Angels among us.

****Update:  The donor heart and lungs are a match.  She’s in surgery at Stanford now.  It is happening.

On the eve of one really important interview (that will take place in seven hours), I must write about my friend Sharlie.

Boldly she is stepping into surgery-a double lung and heart transplant.  Right now.

This 1979er has already changed the world with her smile, her contagious laugh and her ability to see the glass as half full with every borrowed breath.

PLEASE.  Please.  Please keep Sharlie, her husband, and her little boy Harrison in your thoughts.  Light a candle, hug someone you love, be bold in honor of this woman.  A big part of this project is to help all of us connect to each other.  I can’t conceive of a better way to do it than by hope and peace sent to a radiant trailblazer like Sharlie at this pivotal moment.

If you feel compelled to do so, here are some ways to connect to Sharlie and her family today:

-Send them love in whatever way you feel.

Funny Bunnies For Ever!

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

-Emily Dickinson

      Thank you so much. I truly believe she is surrounded by love and so much light. I get chills just thinking how much love is being poured into that operating room.
