Travel Log #4: Dream Big

Traveling back in time today.

About a year ago I made this video:

Here are some from around that time:

(How many people have worn these pants since?

This last photo was taken almost exactly a year ago at a wedding for  a dear friend. I reconnected with a bunch of ’79ers and was totally taken by where their lives had gone, with what they were doing, big and small.

J. Everette (the guy in the photo) left our small South Illinois town the day after graduation and has since become a pretty amazing photographer for Paper Magazine and beyond. He perhaps was one of the biggest catalysts in me going for it-seeing how much he overcame to be where he is right now was really inspiring.

He said to me: Dream big, Alice. You were meant to shine.

The next day, on the way home from the airport and listening to this TED talk by Elizabeth , I got the bug to do this project.

I haven’t looked back since.

Don’t forget to dream big.

P.S. We have a shiny, new website that I LOVE!

Check it out:

Let me know if it makes you happy, too. I have such a wonderful team of people who donate their time and talent to making project1979 great.
