Inspiring Monday: Because You Can

Seth Godin has some inspiring advice for all of us who care about doing great work but might be struggling. When we do start to make the money we might need to make us comfortable, may we ponder this:

“I’m making money, why do more?”

Because more than you need to makes it personal.

Because work that belongs to you, by choice, is the first step to making art.

Because the choice to do more brings passion to your life and it makes you more alive.

Because if you don’t, someone else will, and in an ever more competitive world, doing less means losing.

Because you care.

Because we’re watching.

Because you can.

In the meanwhile, let’s take a look at a few project1979ers who are doing more:

Cindy Marie Jenkins:

-Teaching people how to authentically market themselves, with heart.

-Reaching out to various magic-makers in the Web Series world to help them grow their audience.

-Interviewing and supporting theatre makers/storytellers who are working to do great work through her blog and Google Chats.

Jasmine Idun Tova Lyman:

-Helping to organize the first DIY days Gothenburg, an event that brought people from all over the world together to talk about collaboration and innovation.

-Creating meaningful art through film, fashion design and performance yet always having the humility and excitement to promote the work of others.

-Tirelessly volunteering her producorial skillz to help transmedia folk make better and lasting projects.

Domenico De Orsi:

-Committed to making beautiful, necessary portraits of the world through his editing, filming and directing creations.

-Always willing to listen to an idea and give his honest and kind perspective on its’ feasibility.

-Being open to share his talent to helping fellow artists grow their enterprises.

These guys are doing amazing things, just by being themselves and doing beautiful work.

Thanks, guys!
